With only two weeks remaining before the close of campaigns in Kibra constituency, hopefuls have intensified their campaigns in search of votes.
On Monday, Jubilee party aspirant McDonald Mariga took his campaigns to Woodley Grounds, as the November 7 mini poll draws nearer.
He was accompanied by his mother Mildred Wanyama, as he once again pledged to better the constituency if given the nod to take the vacancy left by the late Ken Okoth.
He promised to upgrade the football pitch if elected, tap local talents, introduce a Kibra soccer team, and other sporting entities representing other activities.
"We will set up a soccer academy in Kibra and lobby for sports-based scholarships. We will upgrade existing playgrounds in Laini, Sarangombe and other areas to acceptable levels to host football, rugby," he said.
He also vowed to better the education system, pledging to establish a fair mode of bursary allocation.
"We will introduce a Kibra CV bank. That will use technology to lobby for the job for our youth," he added.
However, his bid is facing opposition from some politicians from the very same Jubilee party, who are terming him a political project.
