South Mugirango Member of Parliament Sylvanus Osoro on Saturday officially opened end of year football tournament in the constituency.
Addressing residents at Etago Stadium in Etago Sub-county, the youthful legislator maintained that he is committed to nurturing and growing talents for a better future.
"The end year tournament is aimed at boosting talent growth. Residents will have an opportune time to interact, network and exchange ideas as we end the year in style," Osoro noted.
He appealed to residents not to remain in their houses during this festive season when the tournament will be ongoing.
Osoro said players will play well if the turn-up of fans to cheer them will be good.
"The tournament is meant to keep our youths and all residents busy during this festive season. I personally will not miss attending the matches," he added.
He also confirmed that the matches will be played at all the playing grounds in the constituency but and not at a central place as many had opined.
Osoro is serving his first term in office and was elected on a Kenya National Congress (KNC) Party. He is expected to defend his seat in 2022.
He is a close ally of Deputy President William Ruto.
