Harambee Stars football player Francis Kahata has been named the best player of the Tanzanian Vodacom Premier League for the month of December.
The announcement was made by the Tanzanian Football Federation (TFF) on its Twitter feed on Tuesday.
"Simba striker Francis Kahata has been named the best player for the month of December in the Tanzanian Vodacom Premier League in the 2019/20 season, beating Hassan Dilunga of Simba and Bakari Mwanyeto of Coastal Union in the final. (Kiungo mshambuliaji wa klabu ya Simba ya Dar es Salaam, Francis Kahata amechaguliwa kuwa Mchezaji Bora wa mwezi Disemba wa Ligi Kuu ya Vodacom Tanzania Bara (VPL) msimu wa 2019/20, akiwashinda Hassan Dilunga wa Simba na Bakari Mwanyeto wa Coastal Union alioingia nao fainali)," TFF wrote.
The former Gor Mahia player joined Simba last year and has played an instrumental role in his new club's campaign in the Tanzanian league.
He caused a sensation on social media a few days ago after finding the back of the net through a well-taken free-kick during a league match against Ndanda FC.
Kahata's national side, Harambee Stars, will be seeking to qualify for the 2021 African Cup of Nations after featuring in the 2019 edition of the continental showpiece.
