Governor John Nyagarama will now face probe by various government agencies following s report by Moses Kajwang'-led Senate Public Accounts Committee.
A fortnight ago, the same committee showered praises to Nyagarama, with Kajwang' claiming that Nyagarama's government is the best ever.
The remarks caused jitters among members of the public who accused the committee of allegedly taking bribes to sanitise Nyagarama's administration.
"We have looked at the payments and I can conclude that Nyamira goverment is the best among all other devolved units. Good job," he had said.
Nyagarama's administration has survived several corruption allegations, with the governor always dismissing the complaints.
But in a report that will land at EACC and DCI desks, the county boss has been accused of violating tendering procedures, irregular withdrawal of money among others.
“The committee recommends that the responsible officers be prosecuted for breach of Section 62 of the Public Audit Act,” says the PIAC.
The committee also cites the county for single sourcing casuals for various civil works amounting to Sh7 million and procuring resource mapping services at a cost of Sh21.7 million through direct procurement.
Inflated prices of various services offered is also among issues to be investigated. Recently, it was established that despite Sh100 million allocated to Manga stadium it has never been completed.
