Garissa Township MP Aden Duale has told off ODM leader Raila Odinga over his recent statement that the country should be ready for a referendum which he said will be held in June, this year.
According to Duale, the June referendum is practically impossible as there are many procedures to be followed for it to happen.
"I want to tell Raila for free that the referendum he is talking about in June is impossible. Don't cheat yourself. The timeline given for you to collect signatures you need is two to three months. Unless you want to hoodwink us and collect signatures from Huduma Namba which we won't allow," Duale said, as quoted by KBC.
While also dismissing the Friday BBI debate in Kisii County which was attended by Raila and other top leaders in the country, the National Assembly Leader of Majority said that the meeting was waste of resources which should have been channelled to help implement meaningful development projects in the country.
Duale's statement came just a day after Deputy President William Ruto dismissed the Kisii meeting which he also said was a waste of taxpayers' money.
