Celebrated economist David Ndii on Monday mocked State House Digital Communication Director Dennis Itumbi over alleged assassination plot against DP William Ruto.
On his Twitter account, Itumbi had accused a national newspaper of linking Dr Ruto's communication officials to the saga without giving them a right of reply.
"Journalism is at its lowest form, when @dailynation pens a story & reproduces allegation after allegation - but does not bother to call or text any of the communication officers in the Presidency they claim are being sought by @DCI_Kenya & are in hiding. Objective verification," he lamented.
The alleged assassination plot took the country by storm last week with a section of Cabinet Secretaries linked to the saga accusing Dr Ruto of maligning their names.
And Ndii, who has been critical of Jubilee administration, laughed off at Itumbi, arguing that the system he has been defending had finally turned against him.
“Governments eat their own people. This government will punish you more than it will punish me” — Sen. James Orengo," Ndii wrote, quoting Senator James Orengo.
According to the paper, sleuths were looking for two Communication officials attached to Dr Ruto's office, arguing that they were behind the assassination saga which DCI says was fake.
Mr Itumbi, Emmanuel Talam and David Mugonyi all work in Dr Ruto's office as communication experts. The two that are being sought by the police allegedly switched off their phones.
