Kogalo as the team is known within football circles is in the hunt for a record 19th KPL title, but Oliech who was a Gor Mahia player until the club hierarchy terminated his contract in August, says the team can’t win the league title this season.

“Gor Mahia has started the league in fine form but they have a bad away record hence cannot win KPL this season. The best they can finish is position three or four. They sold many experienced players and the current squad needs time to gel,” said the former striker as quoted by goal.com.

The Steven Polack side is currently second on the KPL log with 15 points, a single point behind leaders Tusker FC.

Tusker has played 8 matches this season, while Gor Mahia has taken to the pitch 5 times with the team up in arms against 2008 champions Mathare United on Wednesday afternoon.

After Mathare United, Gor Mahia will face bitter rivals AFC Leopards on November 10 in the first Mashemeji derby of the season.

Leopards currently lie third on the KPL log with 15 points, after seven matches.
