He warned that doing saw would be an affair replete with risks.

The firebrand ANC legislator contended that antagonising Raila would make it difficult for the former prime minister to endorse Mudavadi for the presidency.

"You have given Raila votes so many times. We don't want to abuse Raila. If you want to court Raila, you approach him respectfully (Simumepatia Raila mara nyingi kura. Hatutaki tutusi Raila. Ukitaka kutongoza msichana lazima uende na mbinu ya heshima.),"Savula said.

His intervention comes in the context of perceived bad blood between Raila and Mudavadi.

A section of ODM politicians have accused Mudavadi of betraying Raila by fielding a candidate in the Kibra by-election slated for 7, November.

ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna singled out Mudavadi for vicious criticism during a recent campaign, saying the National Super Alliance (NASA) would be dissolved because of the betrayal that the ANC leader had demonstrated.

On his part, Mudavadi attacked the ODM party over what he called intimidating other parties that have fronted candidates in the Kibra by-election that is shaping up to be a high-stakes battle with a bewildering array of interests at play.
