On Saturday, Cherangany Member of Parliament Joshua Kutuny and his Moiben and Nandi Hills counterparts led farmers from the North Rift region and resolved to reject the government’s proposal to buy maize from farmers at Sh2,300 per 90-kilogram per bag.
The meeting was held at Eldoret town.
Speaking after the meeting, Kutuny accused DP Ruto of not resolving the farmer's woes and instead focusing on 2022 elections.
The Jubilee MP said that the DP should be investigated as he might be one of the cartels troubling the farmers.
“We want the government to investigate the Deputy President over the maize scandal,” said Kutuny.
The MP also took to his Facebook account to inform the locals about the resolutions but some of DP Ruto’s diehards blasted and attacked Kutuny for dragging Ruto’s name into the maize scandal.
Locals who replied to Kutuny’s post expressed their angry reactions and warned the MP of dire consequences politically.
