A 12-year-old girl was buried for 18 hours after an avalanche hit their house, the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) has reported.
The girl identified as Samina Bibi said that she thought that no one would come to rescue her and that she would die.
She cried her eyes dry as she lay trapped under the heavy snow as hopes that she would emerge out of the ordeal dimmed.
Shahnaz Bibi, her mother told the media that the family had been sitting around a fire to ward off the chill when the powerful avalanche hit.
"We didn't hear a rumble. It happened in the blink of an eye," she said as quoted by the BBC.
“It was not less than a miracle that Samina was alive after the natural calamity,” she added.
Bibi said that she had lost a son and another daughter.
Over one hundred people are feared to have lost their lives in the violent snowfall according to statistics by Pakistan's National Disaster Management Authority .
Samina is currently undergoing medical treatment at a Pakistan hospital for the injuries that she sustained in the avalanche.
While India has also been hit by the snowfall, media outlets reported that Pakistan administered Kashmir was the worst.
