Kisumu Governor Anyang’ Nyong’o has been ranked poorly in the latest survey.

According to results of the survey conducted by All Africa Advisors LLP, Governor Nyong’o is ranked 20th among the 47 Governors across the country, with a net score of negative six.

However, he is the third-best governor in Nyanza behind Zachary Okoth Obado of Migori (7th nationally with a net performance of 62) and Kisii Governor James Ongwae (8th nationally) with a net performance of 49).

A report of the survey seen by this writer indicates that governor Cornel Amoth Rasanga is at position 40 with a net score of negative 66, Nyamira’s John Nyagarama is at position 42 with a net performance of negative 85 while Homabay’s Cyprian Awiti is 46th with a performance of negative 180.

The survey titled Effectiveness of Devolution in Kenya: 2013-2019 was based on various indicators in Counties across the country, among them governance, infrastructure, safe water provision, health, housing, food security, investment and manufacturing, social services, emergency services, urban development and women and youth empowerment.

The study was conducted through a self-assessment questionnaire, field verification and a public opinion poll on county performance.

The report ranks Alfred Mutua (Machakos) Wycliffe Oparanya (Kakamega), Mike Mbuvi (Nairobi), Kivutta Kibwana (Makueni) and Ali Hassan Joho (Mombasa) as the top five best performing Governors in the Country.
