Speaking at the Bukhungu Stadium on Saturday, Waiguru started by appreciating the handshake between ODM leader Raila Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta that birthed the BBI.

Waiguru affirmed that all the governors from the region have been placed under committees at the regional and national level to spearhead the report.

"Former Prime Minister we thank you. You and President Uhuru Kenyatta because of the handshake, We have stood firm. Every governor has agreed we have been placed in various committees. I am part of the national committee and there are those who are part of the regional committees. None of the county bosses is outside the BBI.

(Right honourable Prime Minister tunakushukuru. Wewe ukiwa na mheshimiwa rais Uhuru Kenyatta kwa sababu ya handshake. Sisi tumesimama kidete. Hata central Kenya kila gavana tumekubaliana, tumewekwa katika committee mimi nakaa kwa ile ya National steering committee kuna wale wako regional, hakuna hata mmoja akio nje ya BBI)" she said in part.

She later took to her social media and reiterated her stand on the matter. Waiguru alluded that the future of the region solely depends on the implementation of the report.

"We as governors of Mt. Kenya region agree that the future is BBI and we must be part of it. It was agreed that I would represent the region at the national steering comm tasked with BBI coordination. My colleague H.E Wa Iria will lead the regional BBI comm," she tweeted.
