The annual event kicked off on Monday September 30, and is expected to run until Sunday October 6.

"President Uhuru Kenyatta arrives at the Jamhuri Park showground to preside over the official opening of the 2019 A.S.K Nairobi International Trade Fair whose theme is "Promoting Innovation and Technology in Agriculture and Trade.” State House posted on Facebook.

The president was received by Nairobi county boss Mike Sonko and Trade and Industrialisation Cabinet Secretary Peter Munya.

"Attending official opening of the 2019 Nairobi International Trade Fair at Jamhuri Park Showground in the company of President Uhuru Kenyatta and other dignitaries," Sonko tweeted.

The trade fair provides an opportunity for exhibitors from different sectors to exhibit their products to the attendees.

This is the 118th edition of the annual event.

Meanwhile, Sonko yesterday visited several stands and hailed the exhibitors for standing out from the rest.

"This evening, I inspected various exhibition stands at the Nairobi International Trade Fair at Jamhuri Park. I'm impressed by the exhibitors including the Nairobi City County Gov't and the Sonko Rescue Team stands for their outstanding displays," he tweeted.
