Addressing media outside the County assembly buildings, Kiragu said the Karuki who was impeached on Tuesday over abuse of office and gross misconduct should not hold any office.

The MCA who is also the chair of the County assembly committee on Youth, Sports and Culture noted that the Youth docket should not be a dumping site for rejected public officers.

“We were not impeaching an office but an officer and youth docket is not a dumping site. We want a serious person in the docket, not someone who has been impeached,” said Kiragu.

Members of Nakuru County Assembly on Tuesday impeached the CeC where 49 out of 71 MCAs voted for her removal from office.

On Monday, Kinyanjui had attempted to transfer the embattled CeC to the department of Youth and Gender in a mini-cabinet reshuffle but the MCAs stood their ground and impeached her.

The process of impeaching her had started on Thursday last week but the MCAs differed over the voting procedures before she was sent home on Tuesday.

The legislators have affirmed that they will not allow her to serve in any capacity because she mismanaged the county’s Boresha Barabara initiative.
