Former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale has now claimed that political analyst Herman Manyora called him pleading with him to attend the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) meeting at Bukhungu Stadium on Saturday.
In a tweet, Khalwale said that he was left in deep shock after the political pundit decided to call him over the meeting to popularise the report amid implementation debate.
The former senator launched a scathing attack at Wetangula and Mudavadi, saying they are political jokers. He affirmed that he is not ready to change his tune as far as the report is concerned.
"To my greatest amusement, @HManyora has just called me on his cellphone pleading with me to join Wetangula & Mudavadi at their Bukhungu BBI thing! Jokers," Khalwale wrote.
The former senator and a handful of leaders from the region had organised another meeting at Mumias on Saturday, but their permit was revoked due to security concerns.
Khalwale opted to meet the police in a bid to convince them so that the rally can proceed as planned.
Mudavadi and Wetangula had earlier on indicated that they were not going to attend the meeting but they later made an about-turn. During the meeting, the two leaders vowed to support the report.
They, however, said that the report must address interests of all Kenyans. They promised to stand with President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga to change this nation.
