Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen on Tuesday mocked the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) for claiming that Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa had ditched Deputy President William Ruto for Raila Odinga.
Murkomen hit out at the ODM leadership over claims of trying to seek Jumwa's endorsement in Kibra yet a few months ago they were threatening to oust her from the party.
"Recently my friend&client @HonJumwa was being threatened with expulsion by ODM now they are falling over themselves to greet her&to get her endorsement for Kibra," read his tweet.
The senator opined that it was hypocritical for the party to accuse Jumwa of betrayal yet it recently poached a Jubilee nominated Member of Parliament to endorse the ODM candidate in the Kibra by-election.
"Meanwhile they poached Jubilee nominated MP to campaign for them while accusing Aisha for lacking loyalty. Hypocrites," he tweeted.
On Tuesday, reports emerged that Aisha Jumwa had ditched Ruto for Raila and endorsed Imran Okoth, the ODM candidate in the Kibra by-election.
This came after Raila visited Jumwa in her office, shortly after ODM'S Parliamentary Group meeting at County Hall.
However, Jumwa has since denied the allegations, noting that she did not ditch Ruto neither did she endorse Imran in the Kibra mini poll.
