Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Director of Communications Philip Etale has chided Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi, over his new book.
In his memoirs 'Soaring Above The Heights of Passion', Mudavadi, an ex-ally of ODM boss Raila Odinga makes revelations on their political journey, most of them negative.
However, Etale said the revelations mean Mudavadi has the former Prime Minister to thank for his political success as otherwise, he wouldn't have been where he is today.
In a tweet on Thursday, he mocked Mudavadi, lauding him for embarking on a mission to make Raila more popular.
"Thank you MM for marketing my boss Raila Amolo Odinga and for making it public that he made your who you are today. On his behalf, I thank you omwana wa Musa," he wrote.
In the book, Mudavadi dwells most on the happenings that happened before, during and after Raila's January 30, 2018 mock presidential coronation.
He termed Raila a cunning man, almost a traitor, who always seems to have a Plan B, hidden from the eyes of his allies and those close to him.
He also portrays him as an inconvincable, claiming that before his swearing in, Raila was prevailed upon by some top African figures to shelve his presidential plans which he agreed.
He says that among others, former Nigerian President Olesegun Obasanjo, Tanzania President John Magufuli and then US envoy to Kenya Robert Godec warned Raila against the oath.
He says Raila would agreed that he will not take the oath, only to be seen in Uhuru Park taking the her same oath on January 30.
"All of us, including Raila, agreed that he would not take the oath. Beyond this, Raila also told us that on a different occasion and in the presence of James Orengo, President John Pombe Magufuli of Tanzania – also a close friend of his – had held a lengthy telephone conversation with him," he writes.
He also claims that Raila's March 2018 truce with President Uhuru Kenyatta was partially due to financial constrains.
