Police officers in Nakuru have arrested one suspect whom they say has been terrorising residents of Nakuru Town East.
Confirming the arrest, Sub-County Police Commander, Ellena Kabukuru said they arrested David Kung'u Njeri suspected to be behind a series of burglaries in the area.
During the arrest, the suspect was found in possession of Kenya Power cables, 40 litres of ethanol, a CCTV camera, three pangas, a hack saw, four Somali swords, and a metal bar, among other stolen items.
Kabukuru said the 34-year-old suspect was arrested following an operation by the officers in the area targeting criminals.
The police commander said the operation will be extended to other areas including Kanyoni and Bondeni adding that they are still pursuing more suspects who have been engaging in burglaries and break-ins in the area.
The suspect who is being held in police custody will be arraigned in court to answer to various charges.
“The suspect is one of the wanted criminals in the area and our operation will continue as we seek to flush out all criminals with hideouts in the area,” said Kabukuru.
Kabukuru further said that the police will conduct operations in different parts of Nakuru targeting drug traffickers, illegal firearms and illicit brew.
