Kitutu Chache South lawmaker Richard Onyonka now claims that he is the power behind Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi's change of attitude towards former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
Immediately after his truce with President Uhuru Kenyatta, Sudi, a close ally of Deputy President William Ruto, seized the cannons and took issue with the truce, terming it ill-intended.
In March this year, he accused Uhuru of plotting to break his initial vow to support Ruto in the 2022 presidential race in favour of Raila, daring him (Uhuru) to declare his stand.
Speaking in the company of 12 opposition MPs who attended a fundraiser in Migori on Saturday, Onyonka said he convinced Sudi against attacking Raila, hence the MP's reduced attacks.
He said that similarly, there is a need for the vocal parliamentarian to drop his newfound hatred for Uhuru, whom he last week told to vacate the seat.
“I had warned him against attacking Raila over the handshake and I can see he listened to me. I want to tell him to also stop making careless remarks about President Kenyatta," Onyonka said as quoted by the Standard.
"I want to tell Sudi today that he is making a very big mistake. He must stop abusing our President. I want to tell him to go to church and repent," he added.
Sudi, in an address to the press at his home in Kapseret last Thursday also claimed that the Uhuru-Ruto union has since been severed and that he was better than the president and can steer the nation to prosperity in a paltry three-month period.
