Peter Tabichi, the Nyamira teacher who shocked the nation by winning world best teacher award this year, continues with his tours around the globe.

The Maths and Physics teacher has been attending several seminars around the world where he is invited as key speaker in such events.

In the process, Mr Tabichi has shared podium with the high and the mighty, with the most recent being retired South Africa President Thabo Mbeki.

On Monday, Tabichi lauded Mbeki as one of the people he has emulated throughout since his days as a kid in Kemera region of Kitutu Masaba.

"When the world tells you many good stories about someone since your childhood and finally you happen to meet the same person! A great privilege to meet the former president of SA Thabo Mbeki," he said.

"I will continue moving around and inspire many young people. I love working with people from all walks of life, it's a calling for me," added Mr Tabichi.

After his victory, Tabichi met Governor John Nyagarama and President Uhuru Kenyatta separately. The two lauded him following his achievements.

Mr Tabichi won Sh100 million and vowed to share most of it towards community development projects across the country. He's passionate about environmental conservation.

Mr Mbeki, who took over from Nelson Mandela, was hounded out of office in 2009 and subsequently replaced by Jacob Zuma, who would exit over same case in 2018.
