Police in Muranga County are investigating an incident where a 51-year-old man had his genitals chopped off after a drinking spree.
The victim, who hails from Kamahuha in Maragua Sub County, is said to have been assaulted by the persons he was drinking with on Wednesday night.
This is after he was seen leaving with two of the people he had been drinking with shortly after 2pm, after resolving that they would spend the night at the house of one of them.
However, he would wake up to find himself bleeding profusely on Thursday morning, with the said suspects missing, and was rushed to the Maragua District Hospital.
He was later transfered to the Muranga Referral Hospital where he was booked for surgery, an incident that was confirmed by Muranga South OCPD Dorothy Gaitenga.
“We have a suspect in custody who is helping with the investigation," said the police boss after the incident was reported to the Saba Saba Police Station.
Kamahuha Ward Representative James Karanj blamed the attack on drug abuse among the youth, calling for speedy investigations.
He called upon the public to be of use in the probe into the incident.
"This matter should be investigated and the public is expected to fully cooperate and provide information pertaining to the suspects," he said.
