ODM Director of Communications Philip Etale has eulogized the late Bob Collymore as a man who was born a leader.
In a tweet on Thursday, Etale revealed that Bob Collymore had no university degree but still managed to run Safaricom with great intellect
"Bob Collymore had no University Degree but successfully ran the country’s biggest telecommunications company. In short, he had God’s wisdom, determination and the charisma to move things. He was a born leader. Fare the (sic) well Bob," he said.
Collymore passed away on Monday after a long battle with cancer. He was cremated on Tuesday, a day after his death.
His requiem mass was held on Thursday at All Saints Cathedral in Nairobi with various high profile figures attending.
President Uhuru Kenyatta, Deputy President William Ruto among other leaders attended the memorial service.
Many leaders and Kenyans came out to eulogize Bob as a true leader. His leadership style has been hailed across the nations. He has left behind a wife with four children.
Former Safaricom CEO Michael Joseph was reappointed on an acting capacity by the firm's board.
