The governor for Nyamira county Hon John Nyagarama has termed the issue of two senators Kipchumba Murkomen and Mutula Kilonzo Junior who were among the defence team of governor Sonko's graft case as a forego of desired duties.
Addressing the issue early on Wednesday morning at his office, the governor has strictly condemned the issue saying that the work of senators is to prevent the county from exploiting the public funds hence the act of standing to defend a suspect of graft is not a way of defending the public funds.
"I am really devastated by the act of senators forming a defensive team against the graft cases on Nairobi governor's case and yet the senators are the ones who are supposed to stand firm against graft in the counties. The decision they made is the worst one when we stand on the truth," said Nyagarama.
The governor also added that he is wondering on what if the governor Sonko will be sent to the senatorial committee for questioning against the graft judges, how are the two senators going to question him and yet they know all that entails the issue.
"I am also wondering on what if the governor is going to be made to appear before the senatorial committee, what are they going to question the governor and yet for since they are the members in the defensive team. It Will not work well,'' added Governor Nyagarama.
