Political analyst professor Herman Manyora has urged President Uhuru Kenyatta to make changes in his government in 2022, as a way of bettering the state of things in the country.
Making the remarks on his YouTube analysis channel 'Take it or Leave It', the university professor said that Uhuru must do his best to ensure that Kenya doesn't cross into 2022 with its current troubles.
He says that Uhuru should make changes in the government to weed out corrupt individuals using state offices to enrich themselves.
"Do whatever it takes to restore hope. Reorganize the government and remove people who are only interested in making money, " he said on Saturday.
He advised Uhuru to begin by filling the National Treasury cabinet secretary slot which is currently held by Labour CS Ukur Yattani in an acting capacity.
He said that by doing this, there will be a person there to handle the debt issue at a time when the country owes about Sh6 trillion in loans.
According to the university professor, the holder of the seat must be a person of integrity who can help in the fight against corruption.
"We need to reorganize our debts and negotiate afresh with our lenders. A person who will stop wastage in the government, a person who will make sure that corruption is managed," he added.
The treasury seat became vacant after the arraignment of former CS Henry Rotich and his Principal Secretary Kamau Thugge in court over graft allegations.
