"The stories I am getting about my county are not good at all. Remember my party formed the government in this county (Bungoma) and we must make sure that our people get the services they deserve We cannot allow the governor to mismanage our county, " Wetangula said as quoted by the People Daily.

Speaking on the eve of the new year, Barasa called on the Senator to follow the right procedure for bringing corrupt governors to account and stop issuing press conferences.

The Jubilee MP urged Wetangula to summon the governor to the Senate if he feels that the Bungoma county government is engaging in corruption.

"I heard a few days ago the senator of Bungoma saying that money has been stolen at the county government and he has been making that claim in press conferences at his home. I want to tell him to go to follow the right procedure by taking the matter to the Senate (Nimesikia juzi senator wa Bungoma anasema ati iko pesa ati imepotea kwa county government, anafanya press conference kwake huko nyumbani. Lakini namwambia kuanzia kesho assitishe tena kikao na waandishi wa habari aseme pesa imepotea. Yeye aende huko kwa senate iko procedure ambaye inatakikana afwate), " the Kimilili Member of Parliament said. (0:24-0:44)
