Malindi Member of Parliament Aisha Jumwa might be in real trouble is she was the one holding the killer gun, High Court advocate and political analyst Ambrose Weda has said.
This is after the MP was arrested on Tuesday night for allegedly storming a meeting between ODM candidate for Ganda Ward Reuben Katana and his supporters.
A scuffle is said to have erupted between ODM supporters and those of the MP, a rebel ODM member, resulting in the shooting dead of a man said to be Katana's uncle.
Weda now says that the MP might be in real trouble should it emerge that she is the one who was holding the killer gun, but the case will be different and a bit simpler if not.
"If she was the one with the gun then too bad. But if not, then that is for the lawyers to argue in court," he said on KBC English Service's The Big Conversation on Wednesday morning.
He also questioned Jumwa's behaviours, wondering why she had to storm a function which doesn't concern her, especially now that she has cut links with the Orange party.
He added that the MP should have kept off, noting that she could be paying the prices of turning against the party that elevated her to her current position.
"How did she end up there, now that she is a Jubilee Party sympathizer? You know when you become ungrateful to people who have been good to you, the universe always pays you," he added.
According to Weda, Jumwa should have notified the relevant authorities if she thought there was something wrong with the meeting.
