The changes were unveiled in a special gazette notice and one cannot fail to notice that a good number of the appointees are close allies of ODM leader Raila Odinga and his Wiper counterpart Kalonzo Musyoka.

Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua was also not left behind as one of his close ally and Maendeleo Chap Chap party diehard landed a top job from the Head of State.

Cecilia Mbinya Sereka, who unsuccessfully vied for Kinanie ward MCA, Machakos County, in 2017 elections, was appointed as a member of the Public Procurement Review Board.

Mutua took to Twitter to thank the President for picking Sereka who will serve alongside Lydia Gachoya and Jared Maaka Siso.

"Asante sana President Uhuru Kenyatta for appointing Maendeleo Chap Chap’s Cecilia Mbinya Sereka as a member of the Public Procurement Review Board. As one of the original members of MCC Party, Cecilia is a focused, experienced and hardworking person," Mutua twitted.

Those who were given jobs from Raila's side are NASA CEO Norman Magaya who was appointed as board member of Kenya Film Classification Board, ODM youth leader David Osiany (Chemilil Sugar Board, member) and party official Robert Arunga who will now head the Technical University of Mombasa (TUK).

Others close to the former Prime Minister given governmental jobs include Eva Buyu Msando, Christine Atieno Otieno and former Vihiga Governor Moses Akaranga.

Kalonzo's allies who lost in last year's election also made a huge comeback after Kenyatta appointed them to serve in various positions within the government.

They include former Wiper chairman David Musila, former Mwingi North MP John Munuve and ex-Mbooni legislator Kisoi Munyao.
