Political analyst Tom Nduko has said that chances are high that Uasin Gishu governor Jackson Mandago might seek senatorial mandate after the lapse of his tenure in 2022.
Speaking on Wednesday, the commentator therefore called upon the county boss to watch his tongue, regarding his recent remarks regarding the ongoing referendum push.
Mandago earlier in the week claimed that the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) taskforce did not engage his constituents in its opinion seeking sittings, therefore questioning its operations.
But Nduko says that the remarks do not match his caliber, especially for a man who could be eyeing the Senator slot in 2022, and should therefore address the same in a better way.
"Mandago needs to find a way on how he speaks in public. He is a governor, and especially for a man who could be seeking to vie for senator in 2022," he said.
"If they were not consulted then he should have written to the taskforce," he added.
The commentator was speaking on KBC English Service's The Big Conversation show on Wednesday morning.
At the same time, he pointed out that the attacks on the 14-member taskforce could be having something to do with Deputy William Ruto who is considered an anti-referendum force.
He observed that Mandago could be making the remarks just to please the DP, who doubles up as the Rift Valley kingpin, but cautioned the county chief against engaging in such.
"Don't just talk because you want to please somebody, because you want to please your master," added Nduko.
