After many days of "playing safe" over his 2022 political stand, Garissa Township MP Aden Duale has now confirmed where his heart is ahead of the next general election.
For several weeks, the National Assembly majority leader had given mixed signals on his political future with many speculating that he was about to dump Deputy President William Ruto if his utterances were anything to go by.
He had hinted at supporting the Building Bridges Initiative if it was going to chant the system of governance in the country with the lawmaker rooting for Parliamentary system.
However, over the weekend, while presiding over several fundraisers in the Western region, Duale reaffirmed his support for the DP even as he tried to entice other big political actors from the area to join Dr. Ruto's camp.
For the 12 years, he has been in politics, Duale has gained his political muscle after forging a close relationship with the DP.
Being a big boy on the country's political stage, Duale's presence on whichever political camp gives you a precious headstart before going into the battlefield.
And with Ruto assembling his political machinery in his State House bid, Duale is no doubt his number one commander.
For now, he has started to clear the road for the big man, William Ruto. If anyone had any doubt about his loyalty to he the DP, think twice.
