Uhuru has been in trouble over the past few days following his nomination of former Othaya MP Mary Wambui to the National Employment Authority.

A section of Kenyans have bashed him for opting for retirees instead of picking youthful Kenyans, a view the former Subukia Member of Parliament shares.

Speaking on Saturday night, Wamwere accused the president of blindly nominating people without checking their ability to serve, observing that they are only being kept busy.

"These old people are being given jobs just so that they can get something to do. Our problem is that the government is owned by one person who does what they please (Hawa wazee wanapewa kazi tu ili wapate cha kufanya. Tatizo tulilo nalo ni eti serikali inamilikiwa na mtu mmoja anayefanya atakacho)," he said.

The former Assistant Cabinet Minister made the remarks on Radio Sauti Ya Mwananchi's Cheche show.

He added that at the same time, the positions are being used as a way of buying loyalty, especially from former politicians who are the majority of those holding such slots.

He called upon Kenyans to bring an end to the culture by registering their anger using legal ways, which he noted might bring the president back to the right path.

"These positions are being used to buy loyalty. Citizens should now get angry and oppose it but they too don't care (Hizi cheo zinatumiwa kununua uaminifu. Wananchi wanafaa sasa wawe na ghadhabu  za kupinga lakini wao hata hawajali)," he added.
