Mrs Shebesh was accompanied by nominated MP Maina Kamanda, who was among first Jubilee leaders to endorse Mr Okoth in what was viewed as defiance to DP William Ruto.

Dr Ruto endorsed McDonald Mariga, with his allies insisting that the Kibra race will introduce him to city politics, in which Mr Raila Odinga has dominated for years.

At the campaigns, Mrs Shebesh insisted that Jubilee party belongs to President Uhuru Kenyatta, another indication that she's not in good terms with DP Ruto.

Early this week, Shebesh insisted that Raila Odinga was critical in cementing Uhuru's legacy, adding that the ODM leader should not be underrated.

"I am happy Maina Njenga that you have hosted us. Embrace Kenya are those women supporting President Uhuru Kenyatta. Those of us from Jubilee are few, majority are on the other side.

"Uhuru wants a united nation where even Mt Kenya people can do business everywhere. That's why he joined hands with Raila. Never underrate Raila's strength. He scored in more than half of this country even though he had no money. He gave us sleepless nights. Uhuru wasn't stupid to work with Raila," she said.

For the first time on Friday, Mr Odinga endorsed Imran Okoth for Kibra seat, which was left vacant following the death of Ken Okoth, Imran's brother.

"Lastly, President Uhuru Kenyatta has sent Sh1 million for parents and another one million for construction. I am also giving another one million. We shall continue standing with you.

"Kibra people, that's my home. I am with my boy here Imran. Stand up so that people see you. The next MP for Kibra is Imran. Thank you," he said.
