Football Kenya Federation (FKF) President Nick Mwendwa has applauded comedian Eric Omondi's efforts to marshal support for Harambee Stars during the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
In an Instagram post on Sunday, Eric shared a message from Mwendwa, where the latter promised to give the comedian a jersey as a token of appreciation for the online buzz he was creating ahead of Harambee Stars matches.
“Hello Eric, this is FKF President Nick Mwendwa. Wanted to appreciate the buzz you have created around Harambee Stars. We really appreciate and tomorrow you will receive our new macron jersy (Sic) to continue with the creativity. Thank you my friend. Nick,” Eric shared Mwendwa's text on Instagram.
In response, Omondi promised to intensify his support for the national team and predicted a victory against Senegal.
“THANK YOU SIR! Kazi Inaanza leo!!!! Mark my Words!!! We will beat SENEGAL TOMORROW PERIOD!!!” the comedian wrote on Instagram
Kenya is scheduled to play against Senegal today at 22:00 hours. Kenya needs a point to qualify to the next round of the competition.
Algeria is leading the group with 6 points followed by Senegal and Kenya, who are tied at 3 points.
Kenya won 3:2 against Tanzania on Thursday.
