Human rights activist Boniface Mwangi has slammed State House Secretary of Digital Innovations and Diaspora Communications Dennis Itumbi after his arrest.
In a tweet on Wednesday afternoon, Mwangi accused Itumbi of attacking him over an article he wrote sometimes back.
"Dennis Itumbi reminds me of Joseph Goebbels, Hitler’s chief of propaganda. Itumbi has no problem falsely accusing people of things they haven’t done. I wrote this article April 27, 2018 for the Nairobian," he said.
In his article on April 27, 2018, Mwangi pointed out that Itumbi was a great abuser of anyone who he thought was against the government. He created hashtags aimed at mocking opposers of President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Itumbi was arrested by detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) on Wednesday at Charlie’s Bistro restaurant in Nairobi.
However, it is not clear why Itumbi was arrested by the detectives. There have been speculations that Itumbi was being sought after by the police over the fake letter plotting to assassinate Deputy President William Ruto.
Itumbi is a staunch supporter of DP Ruto, and he supports his 2022 presidential ambitions.
