The commentator based his argument on Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru's Wednesday remarks that the region is ready and prepared to embrace the leader.

According to Manyora, this is most likely a demonstration that the plans have always been in place, only that the time of revealing the secret, which is now out, had not reached.

"Through Ann Mumbi Waiguru, we have finally come to learn and for others to finally accept that Raila Amollo Odinga is going to be offered to the Kikuyu nation and indeed the larger Mt Kenya region come the year 2022," he said.

Manyora who was speaking on his Take It or Leave It analysis channel on Saturday added that the declaration might easily result in the region supporting the former premier.

He said that Waiguru's declaration that the region is warming up to Raila could be a demonstration that Raila is the Central region's new choice.

"Anne Waiguru has been very categorical about it, leaving nothing for interpretation that the Mt Kenya region is going to support Raila Amollo Odinga in 2022," he added.

The remarks came at a time when Raila is enjoying a close relationship with President Uhuru Kenyatta, which pundits have observed could easily evolve into a political alliance.

At the same time, it casts questions on the fate of Deputy President William Ruto who was promised support by President Kenyatta ahead of the 2013 and 2017 polls.
