Matiang'i who presided over the official opening of Kisii Passport Control Center on Friday urged Kisii politicians to prioritize development and not unnecessary politicking.

"This is not the time for politics but service delivery. I urge local politicians whether elected or not to stop dragging politics in matters development. Residents elected leaders to champion for development but not prioritizing their stomachs," said Matiang'i.

The Cabinet Secretary reiterated his committed to coordinate national government projects across the country without discrimination.

He challenged elected leaders not to misappropriate public funds meant for development.

"Residents have expectations to get development at the end of 5 years. It will be sad when 5 years will end without any visible development. Leaders must make use of the chance they have to champion for development. Continued politicking will derail development across the country not only in Kisii," stated Matiang'i.

According to Matiang'i, leaders should lead by example and be good roles models to members of the Gusii community.
