In a reply to a submission by top news presenter Yvonne Okwara, Pro Ole Kiyiapi warned the government against burying its head in the sand hoping that the Miguna Miguna issue will go away.

He said that the Miguna matter would persist until and unless the court order issued to the government to facilitate the Canadian-based lawyer's return to the country is respected.

"Bravo Yvonne! The rule of law is not based on behaviour and who we like or don't like - Gov has to obey court orders. It is obvious this matter is going nowhere until the same orders are fully complied with, " Prof Ole Kiyiapi wrote in his reply on Friday.

Miguna Miguna was expected back into the country over a week ago but was prevented from travelling to Kenya after the immigration authorities issued a red alert against him.

The government ordered the lawyer to first present himself to any Kenyan mission abroad to get his passport so that he can receive his green light to travel to Kenya.

Miguna was forcefully deported in 2018 over his role in the swearing-in of veteran opposition leader Raila Odinga.
