Kenya celebrates Jamhuri Day every year on 12th December to mark its independence and freedom from the British Colonial rule.

The country celebrates this day as it officially became a republic on 12 December 1964, after gaining independence in 12th December 1964. More so, Kenyans take this time to celebrate their diverse traditions.

On Jamhuri Day, many celebrate their traditions by wearing traditional attire. This reminds us of the traditional attires our forefathers used to wear before being colonized.

Visiting friends, and the sick is the best thing to do on Jamhuri Day. This is the time you are free from work, and using it to bond with friends makes it count a lot. You can also hold celebrations with friends to celebrate the day.
