Speaking in Gilgil on Saturday during a Team Wanjiku rally, Kalembe expressed his reservations about the authenticity of the letter, suggesting that it might have been doctored.

"This must come to an end. That's why you are seeing they are writing assassination letters. I want to be assassinated and you are the one who has written the letter. (Lazima hiyo kitu ikome. Na ndio unaona wanajiandikia barua ya kifo. Mimi nataka kuuwawa na unajiandikia wewe mwenyewe), " Kalembe said.

His remarks come amid investigations carried out by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) into the authenticity of the letter.

Renowned blogger Dennis Itumbi is currently in police custody over alleged links to the assassination letter that continues to dominate news headlines.

Cabinet Secretaries alleged to have hatched the assassination plot have strongly rejected any involvement in a scheme to eliminate DP Ruto.

Kalembe singled out the Kieleweke and Tangatanga groups for blistering criticism, hitting out at the politically opposed groups for not putting the ordinary Kenyan at the centre of their politics.

Team Wanjiku has been moving around the country in a bid to popularise the outfit ahead of the 2022 general elections.
