Saibun Sinaga, The father of Reinhard Sinaga, the Indonesian PhD student found guilty of 159 sexual offences against 48 men, has spoken out.
Speaking to the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), he said that the heavy sentence that his son was given fit the crimes that he had committed.
He did not in any way dispute the verdict reached in the case.
"We accept the verdict. His punishment fits his crimes. I don't want to discuss the case any further, " the father said as quoted by the Guardian newspaper.
Sinaga is reported to have drugged scores of men and went on to rape them, a vice that has seen him described by a prosecutor as Britain's most prolific rapist.
Sinaga's father has been described as a wealthy businessman who had paid for his son to study for 3 postgraduate studies.
The judge who presided over the case condemned the serial sex offender to a life behind bars, saying that he would not be safe to be released.
According to media reports, the 36-year-old would stand outside bars and pose as a good Samaritan to win the trust of his prospective victims.
As if drugging and raping his victims was not too much a beastly act, he would film himself while performing his vice.
