Political commentator Ambrose Weda has opined that Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga's presidential bid in the 2022 polls is almost guaranteed.
The former prime minister has however remained silent on the issue, even as his allies and those of Deputy President William Ruto continue to anticipate the announcement of his bid.
Weda noted that Kenyans and leaders in the country should stop trying to guess if Raila will be on the ballot, saying that judging by how he is repackaging himself, he will obviously take another shot at the presidency.
"The question should not be if Raila will vie, it should be is Raila not vying," he said in an interview on KBC English Service's The Big Conversation show on Wednesday morning.
The commentator noted that Raila actually has what it takes to win the presidency and should not be overlooked, adding that the only thing that can prevent his candidature is bad health.
"He is preparing and working. He can be president. The only thing that can stop him from vying is bad health; if something comes up, but God forbid," he added.
The remarks come only days after Raila clashed with the Nation newspaper after it claimed that the 2022 race will be between him and Deputy President William Ruto.
