Kenyan social media users have raised various issues that they needed to be addressed by President Uhuru Kenyatta. Through the hashtag #DearUhuruKenyatta, the netizens listed some of the concerns which they believed needed to reach the table of the head of state.
The netizens claimed they had no other means of ensuring their grievances reached the president except social media.
A section of the netizens complained about the increased unemployment rate. They argued that the government had not done enough to ensure that youths in the country were employed.
They faulted Uhuru's government for not living up to its promise of creating jobs for the unemployed youths in the country.
They, therefore, requested the president to work on the matter and ensure that the government creates jobs for the unemployed in the country.
Some of the Kenyans on Twitter protested against the recent appointment of government officials starting with Mary Wambui who was appointed to head the National Employment Authority.
The netizens pointed out that the government should be more focused on employing youths who were equally qualified for the positions. They pointed out that it was not appropriate for the government to 'recycle' former government officials.
