The sister of the former Islamic State leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi has been captured by Turkish authorities.
The 65-year-old, who was identified as Rasmiya Awad, was captured in a raid in that was conducted near the town of Azaz.
Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi killed himself after detonating a suicide vest strapped onto his body during a raid on his compound in the town of Idlib, northern Syria.
President Trump described the killing of the Islamic State leader as a big victory even though terrorism experts has expressed doubts that the death will remove the threat that the transnational terror organisation poses.
"This kind of thing is an intelligence gold mine. What she knows about ISIS can significantly expand our understanding of the group and help us catch more bad guys," a Turkish official said of the capture of Rasmiya Awad.
Fahrettin Altun, the communications director of Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan said the capture was areflection of Turkey's determination to fight the scourge of terrorism.
"The arrest of al-Baghdadi's sister is yet another example of the success of our counter-terrorism operations," Fahrettin Altun tweet read."Much dark propaganda against Turkey has been circulating to raise doubts about our resolve against Daesh, '' he added.
Little is known about the 65-year-old.
Her husband and daughter are also being grilled by Turkish investigators.
