National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale has asked President Uhuru Kenyatta not to allow leaders from different political factions to divide the nation.
In a post on his Facebook page, Duale said that leaders play an important role as far as the leadership of this nation is concerned.
He urged the head of state to unite leaders for the sake of economic empowerment.
The Garissa Township MP said that there is dishonesty among politicians, adding that most of them have their selfish interests.
Duale made the remarks in reference to the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report launch at the Bomas of Kenya.
“There is a lot of dishonesty among politicians and the President should not allow them to sabotage the unity of this county,” he said in part of the Facebook post.
During the launch of the BBI report, Uhuru warned leaders against attempting to divide the nation.
He also assured that he will continue rooting for the unity of all Kenyans.
"Let us now be mature. I appeal especially to the political class, don't divide the people... they don't deserve it," he said.
ODM leader Raila Amolo Odinga and Deputy President William Ruto reiterated President Kenyatta’s sentiments on the unity of the nation.
