Uasin Gishu women rep Gladys Boss Shollei has warned Jubilee legislators who were lobbying for ODM’s Imran Okoth in the just concluded Kibra by-elections.
Speaking on Citizen TV Friday, she questioned why some Jubilee allied politician violated the regulations of the party and campaigned for ODMs's Imran Okoth.
“The Jubilee Party constitution is very clear; any leader elected via Jubilee Party ticket is not supposed to campaign for a candidate of another party in any election, but we have seen Governor Ann Waiguru, Maina Kamanda among others openly supporting Imran Okoth of ODM in the Kibra by-election”, she said.
The outspoken lawmaker asked the party's leadership to punish the politicians who were campaigning for ODM.
“I am ready to launch a petition and ensure the rebel Jubilee leaders who campaigned for ODM in Kibra are punished; it is high time party rules and laws are respected”, she added.
She congratulated Imran for clinching the Kibra parliamentary seat an also lauded Jubilee’s Mcdonald Mariga noting he performed well despite being a newbie in the political arena.
Shollei maintained that the Kibra results should send a signal to Jubilee’s competitors and that in 2022, the race will be even much hotter.
