The head of state took issue with Kenyans leaving the responsibility of reading the game-changing document to the political class.

He chided the outspoken Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) legislator for misleading Kenyans.

"I know Junet has said that he is waiting for Raila to read for him. You Junet stop misleading Keyans. Raila will read and issue his views just as Uhuru will read and issue his views. Allow people to also read and give their views (Najua Junet amesema ati anangojea baba asome. Wewe Junet usiharibu watu. Baba atasoma na atatoa maoni yake ata Uhuru atasoma na atatoa yake. Wacha watu wasome pia na watoe yao), " the President said. (37:50-38:05)

President Uhuru Kenyatta has insisted that Kenyans should read the document so that they can make an informed decision on whether to support it or not.

Copies of the BBI report with its recommendations will be made available to Kenyans across the 47 counties so that they can weigh in on it from an informed point of view.

The report will then be fine-tuned after the public has engaged with it for possible adoption.
