For years it has remained to be a hot topic in Kenya whether parents or teacher should educate their kids about sexual matters.
Most parents in the country shy off when it comes to a sex-related topic. However, it is very important that kids get to know about sexual activities from adults than knowing about it by themselves, that is, from social media, the Internet.
Besides shying off from the topic, most parents may not know the right time to introduce such a topic to their kids.
There are signs which should guide you to introduce a sex topic to your daughter, so that she gets to know as her body welcomes new changes.
Here are key signs you should note:
1. When she starts raising questions over it
She might hear the topic from friends which might increase her curiosity and urge to know more about it if she comes for answers about it then pick from this point and share much with her.
2. She starts talking about boys much of the time
Before the boys in question take advantage of her, it is the highest time you create time with her and let her know everything about sex and everything it brings.
3. She asks if she can be put on family planning
This clearly indicates she is informed about sexual activities or rather sexually active, it is, therefore, good that you tell her about the importance of not engaging in sexual activities before marriages, safe sex, and where to think of birth control
