Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga is now ruling the country alongside President Uhuru Kenyatta, Siaya Senator James Orengo has claimed.
Speaking on Sunday, the close Raila ally claimed that the 2018 trice between the two have brought the two together, to an extent that Uhuru has entrusted Raila with some governance roles.
He observed that the center of government has been divided into two, hence the delegations of top state officials that have been seen holding talks with Raila in his private offices lately.
"The power has not completely shifted but you can see that there are two centers of political power now; If you look at the people who have been visiting Capitol Hill; Cabinet Secretaries, Principal Secretaries," he said.
The lawmaker who was speaking on K24's Punchline on Sunday night was referring to Raila's private offices at Capitol Hill, where be has been hosting government officials.
He added that chances are high that the two leaders have also been consulting before any major political decision is made in the country since the truce.
"I think substantially when it comes to political decisions there are some negotiations," added the Senior Counsel.
The closeness of the two formerly sworn rivals have resulted in some discomfort from Deputy President William Ruto's quarters, with the DP appearing isolated by the president lately.
Some of his allies, for example Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri, have challenged the President to declare the real intentions behind the truce, observing that it could see Uhuru betray Ruto.
In January, Ngunjiri was severely scolded by Uhuru after he demanded that the president assures the nation that Raila will not lead him into reneging on his 2013 vow to endorse the DP as his successor in 2022.
