Machakos Governor Dr Alfred Mutua has claimed that senators dislike him because of his integrity and refusal to be swayed.
The county boss on Tuesday claimed that while some of his colleagues have been allowing themselves to be threatened and manipulated by their senators, he has stood his ground.
He stated that he has not been giving monies to senators to spare him on matters oversight, while other governors have allegedly been giving money in tens of millions of shillings.
"Some governors are giving money to senators. Others are paying up to Sh20 million (Magavana wengine wanatoa pesa, wengine wanalipa maseneta hata Sh20 million)," he said.
He made the remarks on Radio Maisha's Bunge La Maisha show on Tuesday morning, hosted by Billy Miya.
The county boss added that the lawmakers do not like him, adding that he is not planning to soil his clean record of never giving or receiving a bribe from anyone.
"I haven't given anything, even Kajwang knows that I don't give money. That's why they dislike me (Mimi sijatoa kitu, hata Kajwang anajua mimi sitoi pesa. Ndio maana hawanipendi)," he added.
Homa Bay Senator Moses Kajwang is the chair of the Senate County Public Accounts Committee and Investment Committee (CPAIC).
