Kisii Senator Prof Sam Ongeri on Friday heaped praises on bodaboda business.
Speaking during the 'Bodaboda Tuwe Compliant Na Mama Kisii County' Trainees Pass out event at the Kisii School, he urged bodaboda riders to work hard to earn a living.
"I respect bodaboda riders so much for the good work they are doing. Riders have contributed much to the growth of the county's economy through payment of taxes," he said.
Ongeri said bodaboda riders across the county should report county enforcement officers who demand bribes from them for legal action to be taken.
According to Ongeri, the bodaboda sector has created jobs for youths who could be jobless.
He appealed to form four leavers who are at home without a job to enrol in a driving school so that they can join the bodaboda business.
"Few individuals who hide in the bodaboda business to steal from people need to be flushed out. Riders' officials should be vigilant to ensure no criminal hides in the sector with the sole purpose of stealing from clients," Ongeri said.
The senator also warned riders against being misused by a section of greedy politicians to push their selfish agenda.
