Police on Tuesday arraigned a man accused of participating in the brutal murder of Nakuru businessman David Mwangi Wachira alias Kamlesh on the night of August 16, and 17, 2019.
Elvis Musonya Karambe was charged with murdering Wachira within the precincts of his beer factory in Nakuru's Industrial Area in Nakuru West sub county.
He was arraigned before Principal Magistrate Elizabeth Usui, who heard that the suspect who is an employee of the deceased, attacked him in the company of others not before the court.
The court heard that the suspect, who was arrested on Monday, and the others reportedly attacked the deceased using crude weapons on the said date, leading to his death.
The court was also told that Mr Karambe was on duty on the night of the attack, reports the Nation.
The magistrate granted the prosecution's request to hold him for two more weeks as it concludes investigations, including acquiring his M-Pesa statements.
Police said they have launched a manhunt for other members of the gang that left the businessman with visible head and neck injuries.
The case will be mentioned again on September 10, 2019, with the body of the deceased currently lying at the PN Ngari Funeral Home in Nakuru Town.
